Finding a beauty salon near you takes seconds. Choosing the right one is harder. Ratings blur together, every photo looks polished, and it is easy to forget the name of the place a friend recommended last spring. A good app should help with the whole job: finding a salon, deciding, getting there and remembering the visit.
What a good salon app should do
- Search where you need it: by city or district for a trip or a new neighborhood, and near you for today.
- Be honest about results: show where the listings and ratings come from, and label any paid placement clearly so it is never mistaken for a recommendation.
- Make contact quick: call, open the salon's website or get directions in one tap.
- Remember your favorites: a private list of salons you like, with room for your own notes.
- Keep your appointments: the date, the time, the service and a reminder before you go.
- Respect your privacy: use your location only when you ask for a nearby search.
How to choose a salon
A high rating is a start, not a decision. Look a little closer before you book, especially for color, lashes, brows or skin treatments, where the result stays with you for weeks.
Distance matters more than it seems. A salon you can reach easily is one you will return to for touch ups, root color or a monthly brow shape. For services that need regular upkeep, a very good salon close to home is often a better choice than an excellent one across the city.
- Read reviews for your service: a salon can be excellent at cuts and average at color. Look for reviews that mention the exact service you want.
- Look at recent work: photos from the last few months tell you more than a portfolio from years ago.
- Check hygiene: clean tools, fresh towels and a tidy workstation are visible signs of care.
- Ask about consultations: for big changes, a short chat before the appointment avoids surprises.
- Ask for prices up front: many services are priced by length, thickness or time, so ask for a range.
- Ask about patch tests: for hair color, lash tints and some skin treatments, a careful salon will suggest one.
- Start small: a blow dry, a brow shape or a simple manicure is a low risk way to meet a new salon.
Questions worth asking when you call
A two minute call tells you a lot. Ask who will do the service and how much experience they have with your hair or skin type. Ask how long the appointment takes, what to do beforehand and what the aftercare looks like. If a salon is happy to answer clearly, that is usually a good sign.
How salon search works in VIPAD
In VIPAD, Find Beauty Salons lets you type a city or district, or tap Near Me. Near Me uses your location for that search only and never saves it. If location is off for VIPAD, you can still search by typing a place.
The results come from Google Maps, in the order Google returns them, with each salon's rating and the number of ratings it has there. When a salon has paid VIPAD for a place at the top, it appears under Premium salons with a Sponsored placement badge, and VIPAD states plainly that this is not a rating or a recommendation.
On a salon's page you can call, open its website or open it in Google Maps for directions. VIPAD does not take bookings, so you contact the salon directly to make the appointment. Your last search is kept, so you can bring those results back later.
Saved salons and appointment reminders
When you find a place you like, save it. Your saved salons are a private list that only you can see. You can give each salon your own name and add a private note, such as the stylist you asked for, the shade number of your last color or the service that went well.
Saved salons are handy when you travel or move, too. Save a few options in a new city before you arrive and compare them calmly, instead of searching in a hurry on the day you need an appointment.
From the salon's page you can also add an appointment with the service, the date, the time and a reminder. Upcoming appointments appear on your Today screen, and VIPAD reminds you on time. The reminder is a private note in VIPAD, so it does not book or confirm anything with the salon.
After the visit, VIPAD asks how it went. You can save the appointment to your Beauty History, so the next time you wonder when you last had a facial or which salon did your favorite cut, the answer is already there.
Show the stylist, do not just describe
Words like a little shorter, warmer or more natural mean different things to different people. A picture of the result you want on your own face closes that gap far better than a description or a photo of someone else.
Several VIPAD tools are built for exactly this moment. You can save the results you like to My Looks and show them at the salon.
- Hairstyle Preset shows your own photo with a hairstyle you pick from a list.
- Hairstyle From Photo takes the hairstyle from a second photo you provide and shows it on your own photo.
- Hair Color, Bangs and Hair Extension preview a new shade, a fringe or longer hair on you.
- Nail Preview shows a color, finish and design on a photo of your own hand.
- Skin Care Preview eases the skin concerns you pick on your own photo, a possible direction to discuss before a treatment.
Bring two or three saved looks rather than one. Seeing what you like side by side helps your stylist understand the direction you want, not only a single picture.

Before you book
Style tools in VIPAD let you preview a cut or length on your own photo before the appointment.
Every preview is a picture, not a promise. A real cut depends on your own hair and your stylist, and a skin treatment result depends on your skin and the professional. Used that way, a preview is simply the clearest way to start the conversation.

Tip
A clear photo in soft daylight, with your hair visible, gives the most useful preview to show your stylist.
Prepare with Beauty AI
If you are not sure what to ask for, Beauty AI, your personal esthetician in VIPAD, can help you put it into words. It answers from your Beauty Profile and your own results, and it can open the right tool with your answers already filled in. Each Credit gives one Beauty AI message, and the price of every tool is shown before it starts.
The work of a good appointment mostly happens at home. Find a few places, look closely, save the ones you trust and arrive with a clear picture of what you want.
